The results of the contracts for difference auction are in and it is not easy to find positives. Five solar projects totalling less than 72MW will be offered a contract but it is widely expected that two of them are unlikely to be constructed. Elsewhere, efforts to establish a multi-billion pound solar deal between a UK firm and Turkey are faltering, despite the prime minister’s efforts, and a solar company has been fined after the death of an installer.
