Have your say in your community

Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for subscribing to my e-newsletter. It's so important to know what's going on in our community and to get involved! With some very busy months ahead for Ward 5, there are going to be lots of important updates and I want to be able to reach as many residents as possible!

I would appreciate it if you could share this email with your friends and ask them to sign up to receive my monthly e-newsletter to stay up-to-date with what's going on across the ward.

I invite you to get in touch with me at carolyn.parrish@mississauga.ca or 905-896-5500 - I'd be happy to hear from you!

With thanks,

Carolyn

Seniors' Bus Fares

I believe that we need to make it easier for seniors to connect with their community, family and health care providers. I want to see a reduced fare for senior transit users during off-peak hours.

Today, Council deferred the decision on reduced fare for seniors until we get more information about costs and a pilot project run by the Region of Peel.

March Break Activities

There are great City programs for kids of all ages during March Break. Check out the community centres and libraries to see what's going on near you! Read more >>

Public Meeting - March 23

The development planned for the corner of Nahani Way and Hurontario St. will be discussed at a public meeting at City Hall on March 23 at 7pm.

The previous Council approved two "shadow buildings" at heights of 24 and 30 storeys with little objection from the community. Learn more or have your say at the public meeting.

New Licensing for Off-Leash Parks

Last month, Council approved changes to Mississauga’s Leash-Free Zones to keep them safe for users.

Anyone walking more than four dogs at one time in one of Mississauga’s Leash-Free Zones will need to apply for a permit from the City of Mississauga.

Waste Collection Changes

The Region of Peel is changing to a bi-weekly, cart-based waste collection system. Residents must select their cart sizes online by March 31.

Learn more about the changes, see the cart sizes and make your selection online here.
