As many of you know, Governor Cuomo has attached major changes in teacher evaluations to the state budget. Please click here to go to our previous newsletter and get more information on how these evaluation changes could effect PS 124.  

This morning there was a conference call between Councilmember Brad Lander's office and parent leaders from area schools to coordinate our efforts. There will be another call with Councilmember Lander early next week. 

Here are some key planned actions that came from the call: 

• March 11th. All day. Albany trip. PS 321 has chartered buses and made appointments with electeds. Some PS 29 parents also planning to go. Others schools may join.
• March 11th, 4:30-6:00 pm. UFT rally in Manhattan at Cuomo’s office. Permit limits to 250.
• March 12th. Hands-Around-Our–School rally before school. This is a City-wide effort. Participants on the call want to add noise, attention and more schools (in D15 and beyond) to this effort. PS 124 will be participating before school. More information to come. 
• March 12th. Local community march in Carroll Gardens. PS 32 and others. (More information to come.)
• Ongoing letter writing campaigns. PS 10 / PS280 to set a date to deliver stacks of letters to Cuomo and other elected officials in Albany the week of March 24th (possibly 3/17). 
• Hashtag campaign. More information to come.
