Shades of Praise, A New Orleans Interracial Gospel Choir performs contemporary gospel music in the African-American style, introduces gospel to wider audiences across racial and denominational boundaries, and forges relationships that dispel stereotypes and create racial harmony.

Only one more week until our 2nd Annual "Love Will Lift Us Higher" Gala Concert and Fundraiser. Entrance and luxury raffle tickets are still available online.

The evening's festivities include:

a musical concert under the stars by Shades of Praise and special guests:
- Zulu Ensemble Men’s Gospel Choir; and
- The Jones Sisters, a young ladies’ gospel quartet
a raffle with great prizes like a weekend in Destin, Florida or a staycation at the brand new Aloft Hotel in New Orleans

Founded in October 2000 by a jazz musician and a theologian, as a project to bring diverse, interracial and multicultural group of of volunteers together to create a genuinely integrated organization, Shades of Praise has become a shining example of what our community can be. Under the direction of noted New Orleans musician and choirmaster, Al Bemiss, together with a core of top-notch professional instrumentalists, the 50-voice choir has also become known for its joyous, rousing, high-energy sound rooted in the rich tradition of New Orleans' gospel churches.
