Dear <<First Name>>,

Those who joined us in worship on the first Sunday of Lent were confronted with something unexpected.  Several artists from our community had devoted many hours to creating an installation for our worship series. The installation came crashing down on Saturday. It died. We quickly swept it all away for a gathering with Bishop Warner Brown on Saturday afternoon, but the chaos remained in the front of the sanctuary as we gathered for worship last Sunday.

Artists met again last night to discern together how we might find hope amidst this death.

Join us Sunday to see where their creative
energies will take us. Worship will be rooted in Mark 8.31-38. This reading is at the center of Mark’s Gospel.  It marks a transition from Jesus’ ministry on behalf of the oppressed to the beginning of Jesus’ journey to the cross.  My message will invite reflection on Jesus’ call to “lose” our lives. I look forward to gathering this Sunday for worship at both 9:30 am & 11:00 am.

Peace,
Matt
