ECLC
CHILDREN
YOUTH &
FAMILIES

Have you lived in or traveled to a different country? Have you signed up to share some of your experiences abroad with ECLC kids on Sunday mornings, as part of the ecumenical prayer cycle. The list of countries still in need of "show and tell prayers" is waiting for you at the sign-up center!

This Week

Sunday | Mar 8, 2015  |  Third Sunday in Lent

"J" is for Justice. My challenge for all of us this week is to visit the prayer station in the sanctuary, and match the 21 people listed below with the art in Innosanto's children's board book. What do you know about these people? What do ECLC kids youth & families know about these people? Why does it matter to us as followers of Christ, to know other people's stories, and to share our stories with one another?
1. Ella Baker
2. Martin Luther King, Jr.
3. Rosa Parks
4. Petra Kelly
5. Dorothy Day
6. Barbara Deming

This week, in addition to the DO JUSTICE! retreat for GR 9-12 youth, and our prayer station for taking up justice during the church season of Lent, we have the opportunity to be church together as part of a 50th anniversary commemoration of the march from Selma to Birmingham to fight for voters' rights. There is still time to add your name at the sign-up center!

CROSSING BRIDGES: SELMA to MINNEAPOLIS. March with 25 ECLCers this Sunday from 2-4 pm. We'll gather at the State Capitol at 2 pm, march 1/2 mile to Central Presbyterian, and hear speakers on continued racial disparity today.

***During GR 1-5 large-group we'll be working with clay, and an exercise in centering prayer. This exercise is a continuation of last week's "Little Easter" activity. Please help child(ren) enter Rm 100 in silence, promptly at 9:45 am. Parents are encouraged to join us in this exercise for all ages.***

Thank you!
Kelly Rowley
