Meet Our Board

The month of March marks an important milestone in the life of Food for Hope.  We officially incorporated with the state of Colorado and voted in our first Board of Directors!  I am honored to present each of these people to you - our supporters.  Each board member brings a unique combination of experience and vision to our organization.  Every one of them care about the children in our community and want to see them thrive.

Ruben Villarreal - President

Ruben is the founding pastor of ThornCreek Church.  He and his wife, Grace, moved to Thornton in September 2002 to start ThornCreek. They have been married for 24 years, and have two wonderful children, Josiah and Hannah.  Ruben believes the church has a valuable and important position in helping our community.  Food for Hope originated when Ruben had a vision for his church body to be a more consistent presence helping those in need in the Thornton area.  He is excited to see the church partner with all types of organizations, clubs, and individuals to address the issue of childhood hunger.

Heidi Williams - Vice President

Heidi Williams is a Colorado native and grew up in Brighton, CO.  She and her husband Toby married in 2001 and have three children (Michael, Chloe and Noah).  Heidi has owned her own retail business in Thornton and currently serves as the Mayor of Thornton, in addition to owning a small bookkeeping business. Heidi serves on six regional boards, including Metro Mayor’s Caucus-Vice Chair, Urban Drainage and Flood Control-Treasurer, E-470-Vice Chair, Smart Commute Metro North and North Area Transportation Alliance.  Heidi believes that the community and church should help those in need.  She is thrilled to serve as a board member of Food for Hope and wants to thank everyone for getting involved and helping the children in our community have a chance at success!

Daniel Graff - Treasurer

Daniel Graff is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Director of Financial Planning for Weatherstone Capital Management.  Prior to his experience at Weatherstone, he was a Senior Financial Planner at Ronald Blue & Co., a nationally respected financial planning firm.  Daniel has a heart for encouraging generosity, and is excited to be  involved helping children in his local community.  Daniel’s finance background gives Food for Hope a unique business minded approach to its finances that is valuable for the organization's success.

Through her current and previous work, Jill has experience in non-profit food-security program

management.  Her focus at Adams 12 is overseeing program and policy work that helps support
the needs of the whole child, one who is healthy and successful.
