Dear Friends,
As most of you know, I've recently been devoting a lot of my time and energy to my band Gathering Sparks. The trio is going through some important changes that I wanted to let you know about. Sam has decided to pursue other projects and will no longer be part of the group. We are grateful for all his contributions, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Jane and Eve will be continuing-- more news to come on that front in the future. In the meantime, we'll have special guests joining us at some of our upcoming concerts and we are looking forward to bringing our music to Kingston, McDonalds Corners (near Perth), Orillia, and Woodstock in the coming months.
Coming up: Jane and I will be holding court at this Sunday's Singalong Soirée at the Tranzac Club here in Toronto. I will also be doing an informal concert with my friend Lorne Brown at the Gladstone Hotel as part of the Storytelling Festival of Toronto this Saturday night (see the calendar below for the details).
In other news, there are spaces left for the "Dip Dip and Sing" Canoe trip in August, and there's still time to enrol in summer ukulele classes at the Haliburton School of the Arts. Sign up now, avoid disappointment later!

Dip Dip and Sing
Wed Aug 12 - Sat Aug 15
French River Provincial Park, ON
Last summer I was the song leader on a lovely singing and canoeing trip on the east section of the French River. It was so much fun, we're going to do it again! This time we will have room for twelve people in two voyageur canoes. Canoeing experience is not required. All meals from Wednesday lunch to Saturday brunch, group gear, tents, and paddling equipment will be provided by Kim Sedore and her company, Same Boat Adventures. So sign up now for four days of singing and canoeing in the spectacular Ontario outdoors.
