Did you know that eating water-rich foods help you consume fewer calories overall? What's interesting is that you when you consume foods that are high in water content you will, generally, be eating more food yet not doing damage to your diet.
A Pennsylvania State University study has the science to back this up.
Why does this work?
Water-rich foods are high-volume foods yet have fewer calories that energy-dense foods. The high water content in foods like watermelon, cucumber or zucchini naturally displaces sugar, fat and protein. You can eat more of them while reducing your overall calorie consumption.
Examples of High-Volume Foods
Most fruits and vegetables are all full of water: raspberries, watermelon, peaches, grapes, celery, zucchini, tomatoes, greens. You can find a good guide of foods with a high water content HERE.
Broth-based soups are also good. Load them up with vegetables and you have a dish that helps you win the weight loss game AND is chock full of nutrients and anti-oxidants.
