Thanks to your support, the school in Haiti is going strong!

Dear Friends of Mommy Sue's Children,
Thank You for another great year!
  • 100% of the children who took the graduation exam passed!
  • The Community School has been moved to the new land (see below)
  • The school is at capacity at 150 children, with more wanting to come
  • A partnership with Rotary and Reach Global is bringing a well to the school (see below)
  • Mommy Sue's Children continues to be the major source of support for the school, and we're proud that 100% of YOUR donations went directly to support the children of Haiti.
Mommy Sue's Children is dedicated to providing a free education to the children of the Community School of Bellevue - children who would otherwise not be able to afford to go to school.  With your support we can continue to make this happen, and change lives.  Thank you!
Donate before Dec 31 and add 1% to your donation!!!!
Please consider a monthly DONATION of $20- this will support a child for a year! (drop us an email if you donate using this link... we won't find out about your generous donation until the 25th of the following month, but they don't take any fees!!!!)

The community came together to move the school to the new land!  With limited building supplies, they dismantled the school, moved it, and put it back together - only some of the wood was not fit to be put back, so there were no walls between the classrooms.  We were able to send some funds to remedy that situation!  However, more work is needed to secure the buildings to make them structurally sound.
Thanks to the Rotary Clubs of Concordville-Chadds Ford, Media, Chester and Twin Valley, Rotary District 7450 and Reach Global, a well has been drilled on the land!  The well was deeper than is typical in Haiti, but the water is sweet!  The next step is to install a pump.  Options are being carefully considered for this - because the well is so deep, the anticipated hand pump will not work. The well will serve not only the school, but water will be made available to an entire community who now walk several miles for fresh water.
Although our focus is the Community School of Bellevue, when we are able to help other local organizations who help children, we do. We were fortunate to be able to help the Family of Faith ministry support a family getting back on it's feet, Haiti Health Ministries provide prenatal vitamins, and Nativity de Notre Dame Orphanage provide food for the children.
