Vision Stonehaven meeting last week at Sardis Clubhouse

A good crowd turned out last week to talk about our vision for Stonehaven. Neighborhood realtors Sherrie Andrews and Leigh Bryant confirmed that Stonehaven's real estate market is exceptionally strong. Younger families are moving in, and home values are vigorous.

Great ideas were proposed by attendees -- from vehicle stickers to mailbox upgrades to tree-banding DIY groups.  See the list of ideas and give your opinion as to which ones should go forward first:   take this 5-10 minute survey

Give your feedback!

ATTENTION PARENTS:  Stonehaven mom Christine Hill has a Facebook page for Stonehaven community parents to connect, share information, and for children to meet other children in the neighborhood. Check it out.

STONEHAVEN'S FIRST FRIDAY
APRIL 3,  6-8 pm

Join your Stonehaven neighbors from 6 'til 8 on the first Friday of the month throughout the warm months, gathering casually in yards, on patios and on decks for a chance to visit.

This has become a popular Stonehaven tradition with everyone bringing an appetizer to share and whatever you care to drink.

Events are outdoors and, where hosts have a carport or porch, we’ll meet rain or shine. Unless otherwise indicated, children are welcome. Come be part of the fun!

April 3 (Good Friday)
Host:  Jan Higley
Address: 710 Sebrena Place
This First Friday is weather permitting. Sorry, no kids for this event on account of dog.

Might we suggest that a willing family with young children host an egg hunt in tandem with First
Friday?  If so, please contact Barbara Birge.

RAMA ELEMENTARY'S ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

For 125 years, Rama Road Elementary School has played a significant role in educating children in and around our neighborhood. For the last 50 years, the building located on Rama Road has served as the school’s home. During that time, there have been many changes, which have helped form and shape the school into the outstanding institution that it is today.

On Friday, May 8, from 5:30 - 8:30, there will be a celebration of the legacy of the school in the community as current and former teachers, staff, students, families and neighbors to come to Rama for an evening to celebrate the milestone anniversary of the school in the community. Food trucks will be on hand so you can purchase food, and there will be speakers sharing past, present and future commentary about the importance of Rama Road.

While a formal RSVP isn't required, an expression of interest would be appreciated so food quantity isn't an issue. Email ramaanniversary@gmail.com with any questions you might have. Please spread the word!

There's an app for that?

Chris Matthews, Park and Rec's Division Director of Nature Preserves and Natural Resources, recently gave a presentation about our county's streams. Did you know that 81% of our watersheds are considered 'impaired?' There is a free application (app) that will easily allows us to notify the proper authorities if we see things that might pollute or otherwise jeopardize our watershed. Here's the link.
How are the streams here in our Stonehaven backyard?
What is a watershed and what's mine?

We've seen lots of activity over at Meridian Place!  Read about their current plans and progress.

0ur city ordinance states: no rollout containers shall be stored in front of a home or in front of the building line closest to the street. Rollout containers shall be placed at the curb no earlier than the day before collection day and are to be removed by midnight on collection day.
