Consumer Champion responds to Surrey Care home closures
Last week, Surrey County Council announced its decision to close its 6 remaining care homes for older people, which will result in the relocation of 133 residents and two carer respite services.

Mike Rich, CEO of Healthwatch Surrey, responded to the announcement, 'It is disappointing to hear that the council decided against the expressed wishes of local people on this issue'.

People's 10 most common problems with primary care

To really understand people’s experiences our network has spoken to more than 11,000 people and visited over 550 GP surgeries and other primary care premises such as pharmacies and opticians across the country.

Some of these problems are already well known others continue to persist despite measures taken by policy makers and politicians, and a few are new issues.
