Student Spotlight: Brenda Marquez Ramos

With some students in the classroom, you can tell right away that they have the spark of creativity and passion for solving problems. Brenda is one of those students. Currently a senior at South High School, Brenda completed The BrandLab’s classroom program last fall. On top of a full class load she stays involved in extra-curricular activities while also balancing a nearly full-time job to help support her family. Through The BrandLab's classroom program, she realized that marketing is a perfect avenue to use her love for writing. She then decided to apply for a spot in our internship program - and was accepted!

We couldn't be more thrilled to have her joining our 2015 team of The BrandLab's Rising Stars. Keep an eye out for her this summer!

An Updated Website

As our our movement to change the face and voice of the industry continues to gain momentum, we must find new ways to connect with our students, alumni, donors, and partners. The next time you head to www.thebrandlab.org you will notice a number of changes, including more resources for our students, information for our partners, and more stories capturing the success of our program. Special thanks to the teams at Clockwork and Ackmann & Dickenson for making this project a reality for The BrandLab!

A New Classroom Curriculum

Over the past four months The BrandLab team has redesigned our classroom curriculum to better meet the needs of our talented students. We believe that in order to tap into their endless creativity, our lessons need to incorporate elements of the design-thinking process, empathy building through research and hands-on tactic lessons. We've also freshened up our teaching strategies to ensure that we are using best practice methodology. See it in action by volunteering with The BrandLab in the classroom!
