The Grande Prairie Sport Council is a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer board. We support the growth and development of sport in the Grande Prairie region.

The Sport Council e-newsletter is an information sharing tool. If you have an event or workshop that you feel would benefit the sport community share it with us by emailing info@gpsportcouncil.ca.

                 

The 2015 Northwest Alberta Sport Excellence Awards - An Event Worth Growing. 


A heartfelt thank you to everyone that supported the Sport Excellence Awards on Saturday. That goes for the sponsors all the way through to the families & team members that came out to celebrate the nominees. 


It was a packed house. Our Emcee Tom Pura (Chamber of Commerce & Sport Fan Extraordinaire) set the stage for a fun, professional event and Ryan Blais (former Canadian Freestyle Team Member & Special Guest) put the evening into full motion with his inspirational 'What is your legacy going to be?' talk.

The winners of the evening walked down the red carpet while their chosen song was played by resident DJ Jay Fresh.

The Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau is proud to, again, host the Leaders of Tomorrow Awards presented by ATCO to recognize excellence and leadership in youth ages 13-18. Nominations are now being accepted through the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau and your local FCSS offices.

Deadline for nominations is Monday, March 30, 2015. 
 
The awards will be presented at the Annual National Volunteer Week Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 17, 2015.
