Marching Toward PNW District Honor Club

Notice: Optimist International and President Ken Garner have extended the NO REGISTRATION FEE for new members through 31 March 2015. Now is the perfect time to increase each club membership by at least +1 new member and save the $15 fee.

PNW Honor Roll Continues
Once again it is congratulations to each of the following clubs for achieving the initial step to Honor Club status for 2014-2015:
Zone 1 - BC           Zone 2 - ID                Zone 3 - OR            Zone 4- WA
Vancouver North    Middleton Area +8    Gresham +5            Vancouver +2
Shore +1               Jerome +2                 Portland NE +1        Issaquah +1
                              Twin Falls +14          Newport-
                                                                Yaquina Bay +1

We are up to 9 of the 45 clubs leading the way to the PNW District of all clubs achieving at least Honor Club. Twenty percent of the PNW District are at a plus 1 or better. Remember, Honor Club goal for 31 March is 50% Honor Club membership qualification. We can do this!

Keep in mind - Save $15 Optimist International enrollment through 31 March. That's $15 per new member that you can put toward youth-serving projects!

Regional zone meetings

  • Zone 1 had a very successful meeting in Burnaby, BC led by Lt. Governor Al Kersey.
  • Zone 3's meeting was successfully conducted by Lt. Governor Bill French in Hillsboro, Oregon.
  • Zone 4 followed  in Chehalis, WA, successfully orchestrated by Lt. Governor Monique Connors.
  • Zone 2 will be held on 14 March in Meridian, ID and will be the result of extensive preparation and recruiting by Lt. Governor Rick Matkin.

Special service note: District Secretary-Treasurer Emma Ball attended and recorded each meeting. Notes were taken!

Oratorical and CCDHH Site Relocated
Due to lack of contestants resulting not wanting to travel to BC and secure passport, I checked with each concerned committee chair to regenerate interest. Being assured contestants would be forthcoming, I decided to move the 3rd Quarter Conference to a more central location. As of Monday, 10 March 2015, the 3rd Quarter Conference will be held at the Red Lion Columbia Center in Kennewick, WA. Plan now to attend. Click here for hotel reservation information and to register now.

WE CAN ALL BECOME HONOR CLUB!!

Let us all strive for rewarding YOUTH ACTIVITIES.
