“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind."

Please Join Us in Welcoming the Tugwell Family to Child Hope

by Bill and Susette Manassero

It is with great joy and excitement that we introduce you all to the Tugwell family. We asked for direction in who would step in for us during our time away, and the Lord, faithful as always, answered our prayer.

Noel and Lori Tugwell came to Haiti in 2013. They are the parents of four beautiful children, Esther (6) and Lilly (12), adopted from China, and Silas (9) and Louis (16), adopted from Haiti. They are currently the Haiti country directors of Outside the Bowl, a wonderful organization that currently provides food for 2,000 people a day in Haiti - including for our own feeding program.

The Tugwell's have graciously and prayerfully accepted the opportunity to steward Child Hope during our upcoming sabbatical, and we couldn't be any happier. They have become wonderful friends with a heart for orphans and a huge love for the Lord. They will continue in their current role with Outside the Bowl as they oversee Child Hope, so please keep them in your fervent prayers! The the task ahead of them will be challenging, yet we believe, fruitful!

We would like to thank all of you for standing beside us during this time of transition and for your ongoing prayers. Once again, we continue to proclaim that without the body of Christ, the work here could not be accomplished, and we remain humbly and eternally grateful. Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you to each of you who donated last week towards the cost of vaccinating all of the children in our homes! We raised almost $5000 - TWICE our original goal of $2500! Any funds that are left over will be used towards future medical exams and supplies for the kids. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Well Done Christella!

Christella has consistently been ranked number one in her 10th grade class at Franz Spire...a job well done!

Congratulations to our Instagram Photo Contest Winners!

We LOVED seeing all of your photos and hearing stories from around the world about why you love Child Hope. We believe in the power of stories and wanted to share a few of the winners with you! Check out our first-place and runner up winners below.
1st Place Winner, Mari W. | "F E E D I N G P R O G R A M. The Bens was filled today with the kids who live in the streets. It hits you hard knowing that these children are taking care of each other and have little to nothing. We get to love on all of these precious souls."
Runner-Up, Ashley R. | "We all know how much I have come to love Haiti. From the country to the people. Everytime I go, I learn so much more. It's amazing to see how many different kinds of people come together and are able to work and communicate with each other without a word. This photo says so many things, that I don't even know where to start. His innocence and curiosity of the things around him. Brave enough to take a stranger's hand, and of course, be nervous about it, but not afraid puts me in awe."

Runner-Up, Leslie W. | "Hearing Susette tell the story of how Child Hope was founded will give you the chills! So thankful to be able to spend time with her, her husband, and their family. Sometimes you are just left completely speechless."
Runner-Up, Sam R. | "So during my time in Haiti, I longed to see this beautiful boy, who I had fallen in love with during my first trip about a year and a half ago, but he was nowhere to be found. I kept praying that God would give me a sign that he was happy and safe. On the day of the feeding program, I recognized a special smile from across the Bens and called out his name...he came running at me and jumped into my arms. Thank you Jesus. Mwen renmen ou, Dave."

Runner-Up, Hannah R. | "Our last day in Haiti, I can't say how much I have enjoyed being here and how much I have been touched by EVERY person I have met. Haiti until next time Naw-weh Pita (I think I spelled that wrong!)"

Letters to Your Sponsored Child

Do you sponsor a child? Ever wondered how you can stay in touch with them? We encourage you to write to them! You can send your letters to our stateside offices at 1225 Coast Village Road, Suite C, Santa Barbara, CA 93108, or send an email to sponsor@childhope.org. Since Haiti has no mail system, you may not hear back for several months, but it means a great deal for our kids to know that you are thinking about and praying for them!
