This month we celebrate 10 years. A decade in business is, undoubtedly, something to cheer about. But it is also an opportunity to look back and reflect on the journey.
First of all we are incredibly grateful to each one of our loyal customers. To each one of you who keep coming back and not even that, but recommend us to friends, family and colleagues. In these 10 years we have been lucky enough to be part of our customer's very special occasions: birthdays, engagements, Mother's Day, Christmas parties, New Year's Eve and even weddings. Each time people chose to mark these dates with us, we become part of their book of anecdotes. And we all know life is full of those.
When we first opened our doors in 2005, we embraced the responsibility that came with the word Mexican cuisine. London was a different place when it came to Mexican food options, little was known and stereotypes ran free across restaurants in the West End. Now a days, the demand is greater than ever. Britain is hungry for authentic Mexican food and in this competitive market we are proud to stand strong celebrating 10 wonderful years as ambassadors of our gastronomy.
Mestizo is more than just a restaurant. We cater for the home sick too. The Mexican community in London is very important for us. This is the reason why we support the Mexican student societies in their events, we are the home of Mestizo Folklore Dance Group who are now close to becoming super stars dancing around the UK. We have held exhibitions, art auctions, crafts markets, talks and many other events promoting Mexican culture as widely as possible. We want Mexicans to feel at home, and we work hard to make sure our food brings you back to our country, at least for a moment or two.
