(March 9, 2015) If turkey is synonymous with Thanksgiving, Charlotte Rescue Mission wants to make ham the choice cut of meat for Easter. That’s why the Rescue Mission is calling on the community to help collect canned hams for their annual Easter Sunday community meal.
“We still have plenty of turkeys, but we want to give our guests more of a variety of delicious food to enjoy this Easter,” says Rev. Tony Marciano, Executive Director of the Charlotte Rescue Mission. “It’s just another way of spreading a true holiday spirit to everyone who walks through our doors of the Rescue Mission.”
The Charlotte Rescue Mission would prefer canned hams for health and safety reasons. Donations may be dropped off at the Charlotte Rescue Mission located at Cedar and West First Street, near the Carolina Panthers practice fields.
