To the Golden Shore

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,

We thank God for you and your prayers. Believe me; your prayers work! April was chock full of meetings. We were in 3 missions conferences, 12 churches, and travelled over 2,000 miles. We have seen 5 people saved this month from our efforts. I also have enough meetings scheduled that we switched to full-time deputation. I do not live by my feelings, but it is an awesome feeling to put 100% of our time and effort to reach the world for Christ. There is nothing so fulfilling as doing what God made you to do!
Our first missions conference was the GLBM missions conference at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Horseheads, NY. Pastor Joe Grimaldi from Akron, OH preached. It was an amazing time. I also got to meet some other pastors and set up some meetings. While there, I also got to strategize with Peter Judson (Kyaw Kyaw Aung in Burmese). Our families were able to spend some time together. I got to preach in Junior Church that Sunday and talk to the kids on Wednesday during chapel.
Our next conference was at the Faith Bible Baptist Church in Rome, NY. The church is two years old, and this is their second missions conference. I had the opportunity of speaking at their conference last year. Over the last year we have grown a friendship with this church. The pastor has a heart for his area and the world. Thank you, Faith Bible Baptist Church, for partnering with us to reach Southeast Asia. From Rome we headed to the Grace Baptist Church of Beaver Dams, NY for their missions conference. Pastor Maulucci has one son in Bulgaria, another on the way to Bulgaria, and many missionaries they support. It was great to be a part of their week. Evangelist Bill Listland was the main speaker. Missions conferences are a great way to get a church’s attention for the need around the world. As Christ said, “Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields.” (John 4:35)  We arrived in Cooperstown, NY for Wednesday night Bible study. The pastor so graciously allowed me to share our testimony and some stories from Burma. This was our third church in one week. The following Sunday, April 26, we presented and preached at the First Baptist Church of Vestal, NY. This church recently got a new pastor who was very excited to have us come. From there we went home to prepare for my nearly three week trip out west while my wife and daughters stay home in New York.
On Tuesday, April 27, I left early for two weeks of meetings in Colorado. On the way out I stopped in Indiana to see some friends and to preach at LifePoint Baptist Church in Portage, IN, pastored by a former teacher of mine, Pastor Brian Cassada. This church is under two years old and finished up their first missions conference the week before. They started doing faith promise giving, and we cannot wait to see what God will do with their efforts. LifePoint will soon be sending some men to start another church in a town not far from Portage. It is amazing to see new churches and new Christians concerned for souls. The next day, April 30, I drove out to the Heritage Baptist Church in Burlington, IA for their Thursday evening  service. I preached about Buddhism and how we have the light they are searching for. After the service, a lady named Mary came up to me and asked me to pray for her unsaved sister who recently started studying Buddhism. She was very encouraged by my coming because she did not know how to respond to this new philosophy.
Now I am in Denver preparing to be in seven church services in two weeks and to talk to other pastors about Myanmar. Please pray that God would get a hold of hearts while I visit these churches and that souls would be saved during this trip. Also pray that I would be able to fill my calendar for the summer. We are looking for a reliable RV also to travel with. Please pray that God’s will would be done in this matter. We truly appreciate all those who read our letters, pray for us, and give to reach lost souls. There truly is an eternal Hell, and time is running out. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9)

Yours for Souls,
The Davis Family
