New Publication: How to Choose a Process Route
How do we go from the lab to production? Development budgets are always tight and hard to obtain, so we must avoid wasting time and money on processes that will turn out to be uncompetitive. The question therefore is how – in the research stage and based on minimal information – to select the most promising process route in terms of lowest cost of feedstock and of capital. It is important to keep in mind that not only the routes from raw material to final product may differ, but also all the downstream processes to separate by-products and purify the product.
