Richard Burns was a real life Mad Men. As an advertising executive in the 1960s and ’70s, he put the smile on PSA Airplanes and helped create what would become a cultural icon: the talking Fruit of the Loom models.
At the age of 38, he was struck down with a massive stroke and declared dead. He miraculously regained consciousness and was given a second chance at life.
What has he done with it? For starters, he’s published his memoir, “Live or Die: A Stroke of Good Luck.”
The next episode of Surviving & Thriving is scheduled to air, in partnership with Florida Hospital, on Saturday, April 25th on WKMG Local 6 in Orlando. Immediately after the broadcast, the full episode will be available for on-demand streaming on GrowingBolder.com. More details to come!
