- The NJ-GMIS conference on Wednesday featured a bustling show floor filled with some innovative tech vendors who want to transform N.J. cities and municipalities.

- Keynote speaker Thornton May presented a highly interactive program encouraging government IT workers to "change the narrative" to make progress happen.
- An attendee at Thursday's Scarlet Startups meetup reported that the speaker, Stacee Mandeville of Red Leaf Coaching, was outstanding and provided useful information about presenting in front of an audience.
- On Thursday, NJIT Innovation Day featured competitions and poster sessions showing off student projects.

- LaunchNJ held its co-founder and intern match night Thursday, which resulted in contacts for both the entrepreneurs who attended and the Drew students who came looking for internships.
- On Friday, the Murray Center for Women in Technology at NJIT celebrated its 20th anniversary.

- A particularly informative panel discussion focused on how women in IT can brand themselves.
- Keynote speaker Danielle Feinberg, director of photography and lighting for Pixar Animation Studios, discussed her own journey as a computer science graduate.
- She also demonstrated how computer programming and math is used in creating animated films.
- Congratulations to all the Hack Jersey 2015 organizers and participants at Montclair State University this past weekend who built tools for journalism and citizen engagement or used data to tell hidden stories about New Jersey.
