Cully Adopt-a-Spot Clean-Up!
Come learn how residents of the Cully community, living in an underserved and diverse Portland neighborhood, worked with volunteers to transform a well-travelled, but neglected public right of way into a neighborhood asset. We will begin with a tour of Cully Park and will learn about the development of the Cully Park Safe Access Project—both, envisioned, planned, and implemented by local community members. We will then lead into the Cully Adopt-A-Spot project where we will highlight what worked in the community-led design/build process and lessons learned from the experience. Afterward, we will visit the 1-year-old project site and help the community by getting our hands dirty while helping to “spruce up†the site.

Living off of 42nd and being a well-known regular at neighborhood bar, Magoo's, Fig was a beloved community member whose passing struck sorrow in the hearts of many.
Through listening to the stories of Fig's closest friends, a few traits stand clear - his winning smile and incredible love for the racetrack. With his last wishes to have his ashes spread across Portland International Raceway, Fig's brother, Didier, has taken it upon himself to travel from New Mexico to hold a service and fulfill his brother's request.
Both Didier and his wife are living on a limited fixed income and want to provide their brother, and our much loved community member, with the send-off he deeply wished for.
