Edith Bolling Galt, the future Mrs. Wilson, dines at the White House for the first time.

A U.S. submarine sank off the coast of Hawaii, killing 21 sailors.

Typhoid Mary, Mary Mallon, the first healthy carrier of disease ever identified in the United States, is put in quarantine, where she would remain for the rest of her life.

New Gallery Opening

Set for Early May


 
Woodrow Wilson’s public speaking tour in support of the ratification of Treaty of Versailles will be featured in a new museum gallery scheduled to open in early May.  The gallery will include recently discovered photos once belonging to Warren Johnson, a member of the press corps accompanying Wilson on this tour
 
Blue Star Museum Program for Active Duty Military

 
In honor of those who serve our country, the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum is once again pleased to participate in the Blue Star Museum program by offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and five members of their family from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2015.

Celebrate Mother's

Day at the WWPL



 
In recognition of President Woodrow Wilson proclaiming the first Mothers’ Day in 1914, all mothers will be admitted FREE to the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum on Sunday, May 10.  Enjoy engaging guided tours of Wilson’s birthplace, explore the Woodrow Wilson Museum where his Pierce-Arrow limousine is a highlight, and experience the World War I Trench exhibit. Don’t miss the beautiful Victorian garden.

Celebrate HISTORIC GARDEN WEEK in the beautifully restored gardens of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library.  Enjoy a taste of Staunton - appetizers, Virginia wine, craft beer, and music in the Garden-a restoration project of the Garden Club of Virginia.
