The Pedaler: April 2015

The Pedaler Newsletter

President's Column

As April begins, we enter what is possibly the best time of the year to be out cycling the countryside. With all the rain we’ve had this winter, the wildflowers should be spectacular! Come join us for some great riding and fellowship.

Our First Pizza & Pedals - On April 11th after the Cibolo ride, the club will spring for pizza for all members and ride visitors. We will meet at Catalono’s in old downtown Cibolo, just a couple blocks into town from the parking lot where we start the club rides. Be there at noon for some great food and fellowship. Cliff Hickel will be our host. If you haven’t tried the pizza there, then you are in for a treat!

The Annual Summer Picnic – Mark your calendars for June 13th. Once again, the club ride will start at Pickrell Park in Schertz, and it will be followed by our picnic. You'll receive more details in next month's newsletter.

Watermelon Rides - As we get into the warmer weather and watermelons become available, periodically we’ll be serving ice-cold watermelon after the rides. We’ll put it on the website calendar as they are determined.

If you have some suggestions for other social events please let us know. You can reach me at president@sawheelmen.com.

Upcoming Rides -  The Schulenberg Painted Churches Ride is scheduled for April 18th (rain-out date is April 25th). This is a stay-together ride; we hope you can join us.
NOTE THAT THE TIMES HAVE CHANGED!
Plan to arrive by 8:30 and we'll begin the ride at 9:00 to allow for more time to get there.

Of course, the great Easter Hill Country Tour ride is scheduled for Easter weekend. The Tour de Castroville and Fiesta Wildflower are also in April. You can see a comprehensive list of rides across Texas at http://www.wheelbrothers.com/texas-bike-rides/.

In case you’re not aware of it, please check out the articles page on our website. You'll find lots of good information and advice there.

After the brutal winter experienced in the midwest and northeast, remind me why I live in South Texas?

See you on the road!

SAW Exchange
We’ve created a section of the website that can be used to buy, sell, or trade cycling equipment. The Wheelmen Exchange is a free forum for you to advertise cycling equipment and cycling merchandise that you wish to buy, sell, or trade. Ads will remain in this forum for no longer than 3 months. Commercial advertisements will not be published.

If you have a cycling or cycling-related item that you would like to buy, sell, or trade, please send an e-mail to advertising@sawheelmen.com. The subject should be what you want your ad to say. Include a brief description, price, and your name & contact information in your message. You can also include a photo of the item(s) (it must be less than 1 MB). Once we receive the message, we will review it and then post the item. We will not post any advertisement that appears to be questionable in nature. Any transaction is between the buyer and seller. We do not guarantee anything and do not accept responsibility for any transaction in which you participate. You should notify us once your transaction has been completed.

Please send any questions to advertising@sawheelmen.com.
