2015 RIVER CITY FILM FESTIVAL


The 5th Annual River City Film Festival is scheduled for April 10-11, 2015, at Decatur’s Princess Theatre to celebrate and promote film as art and education. The event features a screening of feature and short films by students and independent filmmakers, free workshops on film making and a Red Carpet Awards Ceremony. The Princess Theatre sponsors the film festival in partnership with the Decatur City Schools and Calhoun Community College.

JOIN US FOR PAINTING PIZAZZ


Join us Tuesday, March 31st for a fun night out sparking your inner creativity while using acrylic paints to produce a finished work of art in one sitting. This class requires no previous painting or drawing experience. Bring a friend, spouse, child, or come alone. Great for a girls night out, mother and daughter night, father and son night, couples night, church groups, even bridal parties!

This class is suitable for for beginner's to advanced painters ranging from ages 10 and up. The cost of this class is $35/per person which includes all supplies needed. Please keep in mind pre-registration is required. 

Classes will be instructed by Robyn Locke at the Alabama Center for the Arts, in room 208 from 6:00pm-8:30pm. For additional information and registration, please contact Donna Bass at dbass@calhoun.edu or 256-260-2462. 

 


The Horticulture Spring Sale will be held from March 30th - May 11th. Buster Williamson is currently taking appointments from 9:00 am - 10:00 am on Monday and Tuesday. You may contact Mr. Williamson at 256-233-4600 ext. 458 to schedule an appointment. Please keep in mind you must have an appointment to enter the Limestone Correctional Facility and appropriate apparel must be worn. Open toe shoes, white clothing or shorts are not prohibited in the LCF.

SAVE THE DATE AND JOIN THE MOVEMENT...

Are you interested in participating in the annual Multiple Sclerosis Walk for North Alabama on May 2nd, 2015, at the Village of Providence in Huntsville? The walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. Walk MS is the rallying point of the MS movement, a community coming together to celebrate hope for the future.

Participants can enjoy the park and participate in a 1, 2 or 3 mile walking route. Not interested in walking, but want to be a part of the day? Come out and enjoy the festivities by being a volunteer or virtual walker! Walk MS is a great celebration for all involved.  

Walk MS is a rain or shine event – in the event of predicted rain, information will be provided about the rain plan via phone call or e-mail so be sure to include up-to-date information when registering.  Arrive early to check-in, spend time with your teammates and enjoy the pre-event announcements and warm-up. Refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy.
