From Chicago to the World-

     Campus Crusade for Christ exists to help fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples of all nations.  One of the ways we carry this out is by forming partnerships with cities and campuses around the world to help raise up local movements.  We have seen God use American college students giving their time, money, and resources to impact entire countries for Christ. 

      We have been partnering with the ministry in Rome for the past 10 years and have seen incredible things happen since Amy was on one of the first Spring Break trips in 2001!  We just received an update with news that two Italians have joined staff in Florence and there is now an Italian National Director - after years of American serving there, they are finally starting to be replaced with national staff!  This is a huge step in the ultimate goal of our partnership there.

     This fall we’re asking our Chicago Metro staff and student leaders to seek the Lord about  the future of our global partnership.  After a process of considering a list of worldwide priority locations for partnership and gathering information, the choices have been narrowed down to four: Kingston, Jamaica; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Lusaka, Zambia; and Rome, Italy. 

     Over the course of the last week Andy spoke to several leadership teams on different campuses about God's heart for the world and about these 4 locations.  We have asked our students to pray with us the next 2 weeks about where we should go.  We’ve also challenged them to pray about if God would have them go in the next 2 years to kick off this partnership.  Would you pray with us about these things?  Pray that students and staff alike would be open to the Lord should He ask us to go!  We will meet on October 17th to discuss where the Lord has been leading us to partner and we will choose the location together at that time!  The atmosphere surrounding this process has been electric as we all sense God's hand in it and the chance to step out in faith together in such a big way.

     We’re very excited about the idea of Chicago students reaching out to not only their peers here in Chicago, but also being used by the Lord to have an have a world-wide kingdom impact.  As we’ve learned about the needs of each of these locations, we’ve been saddened to think about having to say no to any of them… we’re dreaming of a day when we’ll be able to pass off this new partnership to local staff and work with them to reach one of the places we’ll have to say no to.
