Freedom is about other people.  It's about your neighbors, friends, and family; there's a good reason why...

“Liberty is the only thing you cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others.”

It's another great morning, and with it comes another Wednesday's Box Full of Chocolates.

I'll be going to biology class soon, but first, let me share a few things with you...

The quote above hits the nail on the head. Liberty is not a self-centered issue. It's not about me, me, me.

It's about everyone.

Look at it this way, what are some antonyms of Freedom?

Oppression, privilege, bigotry. What do these words have in common? They all deal with choosing one group or individual over another.

Look at bigotry. It's a negative view and treatment toward a specific group of people. It's intolerance toward differing opinions, cultures, or skin color.

Then there's privilege, which deals with granting special rights to a specific group or individual. Privilege picks one group over another, usually through corrupt or mischievous reasons.

And then you have oppression. Oppression snatches away rights, usually for the benefit or pleasure of others. It comes from tyrants, elites, or the majority.

The opposite of freedom is sectionalism, classism, racism, whatever you want to call it.

Whenever one's right to life, liberty, and a happiness is stripped away you have the opposite of freedom.

In that situation, freedom doesn't exist. Only oppression, privilege, or bigotry.

So what can you do to fix that?

It's simple; give freedom to others.

You can't say you support freedom while you restrict the lives of others.

And that restriction can be anything from what they can/can't eat, all the way to taking away voting rights.

Freedom is not yours to keep. It's yours to make sure everyone can enjoy the peace of a free life.

It's kinda like how Christians are called to spread the gospel. It isn't supposed to stay hidden inside them. They're supposed to share it.

That's what you must do. You must spread freedom to others.

I'll see you friday with a new article,

Until then,
