Today is the First Day of Spring (Spring Equinox). Have you noticed the buds on the trees and the spring flowers waking up? On my walk yesterday, I saw fully some bloomed tulips! It is an exciting time of year--a time of potential and new growth. It is my hope that the spring break has been a time of rejuvenation and reconnection for your families.
As we prepare to return to school next week, we are excited to announce a parent education evening sponsored by River Song Waldorf Preschool that will be held at Mountain Sage on Monday evening, March 23rd from 6:30-8pm. The talk, entitled Rhythm and Routine: Parents' Best Friends, will be given by Nancy Blanning, a renowned Waldorf Early Childhood Educator who is based in Denver.Given our hectic lifestyles, the uncertainties of life, and the rapid change happening all the time, the experience of rhythm and routine is one of the best gifts we can give our children. These two R's build security, confidence, peacefulness and resilience within the human being. Those of you with younger children may find this evening particularly enriching, but please note this is a parent only event.
Another upcoming parent event is the Parent Collaboration Meeting on March 29th, 3:30-5:30pm. This will be a working meeting focused on the ideas generated in the Parent Council meeting held earlier is the month. All Mountain Sage parents are welcomed and encouraged to join this working session. Topics of the meeting include determining the best way to streamline communications about parent community social events/needs, and May Faire preparations.
