Hello <<First Name>>,

Thank you so much for signing up for MerryDay newsletter! This is your very first Merry News. I hope it can bring you joy and inspiration!

Recently, I have read some books on happiness. One of the books that keeps me thinking is 'The Art of Happiness' written by Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler. The book focuses on Dalai Lama's concept of happiness : he believes that 'the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness and that happiness can be achieved through training the mind'. The 'training the mind' phrase somehow reminds me of my draw everyday project. I have been training myself to draw everyday since last July and it has become my happy hour on each day. Since drawing is equal to happiness to me, why don't I train myself to be happy everyday too? So, I consider my drawing everyday as a tool to happiness now. Then, I wonder 'what about those who don't draw or think they can't draw?, is there any other tool to help them train their mind to happiness?

The question has become the main concept of a project I have been working on. The project will need some time to realize and I cannot tell you any more than that it involves around the keyword of Happiness. This should not be a surprise coming from my 'have a merry day' brand concept :)

I'm now excited to have the concept to work on and can't wait and hope to make it happen!

Going to sketching school

Early this year I took a watercolor painting class and have been enjoying painting everyday ever since. This month, I'm going to a class again. The class focuses on drawing and sketching. I like how the teacher doesn't force us to draw the exact reality. He just focuses on how to use hand and arm to draw more freely, how to see things in positive and negative space and how to apply what you have learned to your own style. He keeps telling us we have to know why we draw. For me, the answer is  simple : it brings me happiness :)
100 Days of Merry Animals

This month I’m joining in The 100 Day Project challenge to draw an animal a day for 100 days. The project started on April 6, 2015 and it has been 23 days already. You can look at what I have done so far here.
