Letter from the Editor
Horse show season has begun in New England and my barn mates and I are ready for it! The weather has been very warm, and the grass and trees have gotten green overnight. The footing in the show rings has been leveled, jumps have been painted, and courses have been set. Horses are bathed, clipped, braided, and ready to show... All that's left to get ready are the riders!
Every spring I get a little over zealous - maybe it's the warm weather or increased daylight - and tweak something. This year it's my right ankle and, if you've read the Draper blog at all, you know my left ankle also gives me trouble. I'm not sure how I hurt it, but too much flexing makes it very sore by the end of the day. I'm very lucky to have an extra set of Draper Polos, so now I can wrap both ankles at night!
My hock boots have also been getting a workout so far this season. I'm very fortunate that my horse, Calando, has no medical issues, but I think he likes standing in his hock boots and Recovery Wraps after a hard lesson or show day. His legs always come out clean with no swelling the next day.
I am frequently asked which products I use the most, so here's my top ten list and how often I use them (for now!):
1. Body Wraps/Polo Wraps - for my ankles (daily)
2. 108" Polos - for Calando (daily)
3. Recovery Wraps (2-3x per week)
4. Draped in Health Blanket (daily)
5. Anti-Sweat Sheet (2-3x per week)
6. Hock Boots (2-3x per week)
7. All-Purpose Saddle Pad (daily)
8. Ladies Blue T-Shirt (2x per week)
9. Quilted Pet Mat (daily - one in each dog's crate/area)
10. Active Socks (5-6x per week)
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!

The Next Generation:
Fashion Institute of Technology (FITS) Visits Draper Knitting and Therapies
On March 20th, a small group of students from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, NY came for a visit to Draper Knitting and Therapies. They might look like a bunch of pretty faces, but don't be fooled -most of the students that visited were textile development and marketing majors. These students are super smart, technically oriented.
In the Community:
Forever Home Rescue Silent Auction
Draper Therapies is proud to support our local human and pet community. This year we donated a medium dog bed to Forever Home Rescue New England's Silent Auction. The rescue, based out of Medfield, MA, is a volunteer-run group that rescues homeless and unwanted dogs from high-kill shelters in the southern states. All the dogs offered for adoption through Forever Home Rescue New England live in a network of foster homes both in the south and in Massachusetts. The foster homes help socialize and train the dogs in addition to bringing them to any necessary vet appointments.
Forever Home Rescue New England will be holding their 6th annual Silent Auction on Friday, June 12 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Demetri's in Foxboro MA. All the proceeds of the auction will go to help support the rescue's efforts. We hope our dog bed donation will make a difference!

Advisory Board:
O'Hanlon Eventing and Rolex 2015
Everyone here at Draper Therapies would like to commend Advisory Board member Selena O'Hanlon on a job well done at the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event in Lexington, KY April 23 to 26 2015. Selena and her mount, Foxwood High, did a fantastic job on the dressage phase which earned them a spot in the top half of the rankings. Some slippery conditions due to rain forced Selena and "Rocky" to retire on the cross country course, but we are glad to report that they are not injured and they're ready for their next event! Selena has been with Draper since it's beginning, and we are proud to support such an excellent rider and horsewoman.

Winner's Circle:
Congratulations to Our Best Foot Forward Award Winners at ADGF 2015!
Here at Draper Therapies, we believe riding, wellness, and feeling great is for everyone – horses, riders, trainers, grooms, dogs, ring stewards, judges, secretaries, handlers- regardless of riding style, breed of horse, education, heritage, or budget. That’s why we do our very best to bring you products that are able to be used on a daily basis that stand the test of time while looking great and not hurting your wallet. After all, wellness, like riding, happens every day – whether you’re actually spending time in the saddle or reading articles about proper half pass technique, you’re on the journey to better riding and better wellness!
Draper Therapies wants to support those who are actively enjoying not only their horse and their sport, but who are enjoying their equestrian journey. Riders and horses have both good days and bad days while competing, and our Best Foot Forward Award is given to individuals who not only understand this, but who rise above it. These individuals exemplify positivity, optimism, and good horsemanship. Their smiles are contagious whether they are winning their class or exit the ring ribbonless – for them, simply enjoying their horse and being in the moment is enough.
Denielle Gallagher-Legriffon, Shelly Francis, Silva Martin, Kimberly Herslow, Tami Crawford, Eleanor Brimmer, and Martin Sosnoff were the Best Foot Forward Award winners this year at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. Congratulations to our winners and keep up the good work!
