5) Petition - Urging Canadian Government to Help Cyclone Hit Vanuatu NOW

Please consider signing this petition to support our friends in Vanuatu.
Canadians for Vanuatu

We are urging the Canadian government to donate funds towards the Vanuatu Cyclone Pam relief effort. We know that the Honorable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, has announced an unspecified contribution to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund set up by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. We are watching with interest to see him announce more specific funding commitments over the coming weeks.   We need to secure additional funding for the future well being of the people of Vanuatu. People’s livelihoods and houses have been destroyed and it is going to need a lot of money and effort to rebuild them. <MORE>

YOU are powerful! (…most people just don't know it)
Even your small actions can make a big difference. Find out how…
Please join us for this dynamic workshop that teaches citizens of all ages to recognize warning signs of abuse of older adults and to respond safely and supportively. True-to-life scenarios are used to facilitate discussion and to build skills.

The agenda will include:
  • Learning to recognize warning signs and risk factors
  • Discussion about ageism
  • Scenarios – video presentations of situations of abuse and neglect
  • Building skills: how to respond safely and supportively / how to have a conversation about suspected abuse
