Birmingham City Drive 2015 is a week of events that aim to raise awareness of the fantastic work social enterprises are doing and the impact they are having every day on society and the environment in Birmingham.
We want to encourage more people to:
- Start a social enterprise
- Buy from social enterprises
- Work for a social enterprise
- Volunteer for a social enterprise
- Invest in a social enterprise

"Birmingham City Drive 2015" opening event
Monday, 20th April 2015 12pm - 2pm at iSE
During the opening event we will launch the programme of the week and will introduce a new book “Birmingham Tales of Social Enterprise” – stories of exciting social enterprises in Birmingham. We will also be promoting “Shop for Change” – our updated online directory of social enterprises in the city.

Recruiting for Social Entrepreneurs

Social entrepreneurs have a fantastic opportunity to boost their social impact through recruiting new employees. But barriers, such as cost and employment legislation can make the risk to take on support staff seem too great. Come along to hear from a social entrepreneur who is already taking advantage of Talent Match and find out how you can get involved.

Social Enterprise Pitch for £500 Investment

This event introduces the variety of social investment available in the region and gives five social enterprises in the Birmingham area the chance to pitch to investors including the Birmingham Social Business Angels. Application for pitching is required.

Debate "What's so Social about Enterprise?"

This session should enable you to redefine your purpose, with the power to change your mind-set, empowering you to evaluate:
• How you go about defining your purpose to achieve your vision
• How you maintain your motivation, leading others and your enterprise to create real innovation.
Debate the challenges and create the transformation.
The debate will be led by Angus McCabe (Third Sector Research Centre) and Dr Simon Adderley (Birmingham Business School) from the University of Birmingham.
