Creating Space Invitation
An informal showcase of short works in-progress will be shown at the  DTI Centre for Dance in Dun Laoghaire on Sunday March 29, 2015 by choreographers Nick Bryson, Ann-Marie Brennan & Mahmoud Pharaon, Karen Gleeson, Aine Stapleton & Rebecca Warner, Jessie Keenan & Marion Cronin, Antje O'Toole & Emma Fitzgerald, and Rachel Shiel.

DTI's CREATING SPACE supports dance artists in the development of new work and encourages audiences to engage with artists.

'TEND'

'Tend' is a (work in progress) a response to Paul Johnson's piece 'Without Hope or Fear', which was created in the late last century. Emma and Antje are diving into Paul's choreography, while reflecting on gender issues, cultural restrictions, and the hopes and fears that might come with leaving them behind.

The Saidi dance is a strong style performed by the men and woman of upper Egypt. Men perform with sticks while women perform with canes.

This is a visit to my past, filling myself to the brim again with as many old fantasies as I can. Remembering the feeling of unlimited imagination, freedom and power. This is an homage to my childhood. A hodge-podge, unfiltered homage!
