Welcome to the Third Window Films newsletter for April! We've got some interesting news for upcoming releases and those for upcoming months plus a look at other Asian-film related happenings in the UK!

Earlier this year we released Eiji Uchida's GREATFUL DEAD, a film which was called "Amelie meets Battle Royale" and was included in many Top 10 lists of 2014 including over at Twitch and Film Bizarro, so when the director came to us with a new project we were more than eager to help out!
After selling half my personal record collection and working flat out raising finances, we took to Kickstarter to help finalise the funds needed, and thanks to you we were able to secure the amount needed to finish the film and have wrapped shooting!
The film has a wonderful cast with Kiyohiko Shibukawa as the main. He is one of Japan's leading independent actors.
Third Window Film fans will also recognise him from our releases of And the Mud Ship Sails Away, Isn't Anyone Alive and Fish Story.

Third Window Films are pleased to be handling World Sales (excl. Asia), Festivals and UK distribution of the porn comedy MAKE ROOM!
Set entirely in the make-up room of a porn video shoot, director Kei Morikawa (a porn director himself) brings his experience in the industry to portray a hilarious and touching comedy about a single day in a chaotic set of a porn film! A feature film starring many real-life Japanese AV (adult video), MAKE ROOM is a really funny and entertaining look at a seedier side of Japan with brilliant dialogue, interesting characters and a wonderful set-up! An original and unique film which will sure be an audience favourite around the world!
Some big film festivals have already confirmed playing the film (we're under press embargo for now), so you'll hopefully be seeing the film where you live, plus we will be handling UK distribution and we are handling world sales so hopefully we can sell the film to the territory you live!
Make Room will have its International Premiere at the Udine Far East Film Festival!

New Japanese pop-rock release
The powerful Japanese pop-rock band SCANDAL is currently preparing for their first world tour, taking place between April and May. To mark the occasion JPU Records will release a special compilation CD of the band’s biggest singles and fan favourite tracks.
Entitled GREATEST HITS – EUROPEAN SELECTION, the album will be SCANDAL’s first to not be released in Japan, and is instead exclusive to the UK and Europe. The collection features 15 tracks, including their feisty 2008 debut single DOLL – which has racked up over one million hits on YouTube – as well as seven of their top-ten chart smashing singles (Oricon Weekly Singles Chart) and four catchy pop-punk songs featured as theme-tunes and insert songs from popular Japanese anime.

Asian Movies Meetup Group
Next meetup April 20th
Third Window Films and Terracotta Distribution run a group that gets together once or twice a month offering free movie screenings promoting Asian cinema in the UK
Our events take place every 3rd Monday of the month at the JETLAG BAR in between Warren Street and Great Portland Street stations in London's West End. It's a great venue where we will have out own enclosed area with fantastic sound, a big screen and lots of food and cocktails.
The next event will be on April 20th and will be a special JOHNNIE TO themed night celebrating the 60th birthday of the master of the HK thriller!
