Club Umpire Uniform Collection
Club umpire uniforms will be available for collection from the SMJFL office tomorrow 17/4). If it is not possible for someone to make it into the office tomorrow, a fluro shirt will be acceptable for this weekend only. However, all efforts should be made to have someone collect these tomorrow.
Sports Medicall
Sports MediCall is running again in 2015. Sports MediCall is a business that was launched in 2013 by the AFL. The business is designed to provide community sports participants with priority access to elite level sports physicians without the need for a GP referral. The sports physician practices are Epworth Sports & Exercise Medicine Group (Richmond), Lifecare (Prahran) and Newtown Medical Clinic (Geelong). Please note Sports MediCall is not in competition with your existing physiotherapy/training services. The specific purpose of Sports MediCall is injury diagnosis and medical treatment (more serious injuries), rather than physiotherapy services.
Due Today - Training Ball Order
Clubs are being offered one last chance for the season to top-up their training ball supplies for the season ahead. There can be a delay on orders up to 12 weeks and the SMJFL will not be carrying surplus stock during the season. All orders are due by 5pm today!
Incident Officer
As per the recommendation from the Match Day Behaviour Working Party, each club is asked to provide details of the main contact for any incidents that might occur throughout the season. Ideally this person is not the President or the Secretary of the club.
Once this information has been collected, the SMJFL will populate Footyweb so the contacts are included in the club contact list available on Secretaries' Corner. Each person listed will also be emailed out a copy of each club's Incident Officer who will be the first contact point for any issues between clubs.
Please click here to provide information ASAP.
Tribunal Advocate Training (new date)
The SMJFL will be running a Tribunal Advocate Training Session on Thursday, 14th May 2015. The session will be held from 6:30-8pm in the Trevor Barker Room, Linton Street Moorabbin.
There have been numerous changes to the Tribunal process over the lest couple of years so, although this session is not compulsory, it is recommended that all Advocates attend. Click here to RSVP.
The season dates calendar has been updated on the website.
By-Law Reminders
Trainers & First Aid
Each team must have a Trainer wtih a minimum level 1 first aid plus an up to date CPR component and must have a first aid kit (with ice) for use by the Trainer.
The wording of By-Law 16.6 has been updated to reflect that there is no longer a requirement for practicing doctors, physiotheripists, paramedics or registered nurses (Div 1 or 2) to complete yearly CPR training.
There will be fines for non-compliance of these requirements and SMJFL staff will be inspecting clubs this weekend.

Runners
Please make sure Runners are aware they must only deliver 2 messages then leave the field.
Umpires
No person other than an Umpire Escort or Team Manager is to approach the Umpires at any time.
Team Managers may only approach the Umpire(s) during a match for matters not relating to the manner in which the game is being officiated but must not abuse, threaten or intimidate umpires or players, officials or spectators.

Boundary Umpires are not permitted to coach or communicate with any players or officials - other than during breaks between quarters.
Forfeits
A Club giving a forfeit is responsible for notifying the opposition team (via the club secretary), the SMJFL (football@smjfl.com.au), the umpires (umpiring@smjfl.com.au & appointments.smjfl@gmail.com) and the venue (if being played at a neutral venue) as soon as possible before the start of the match.
Modified Rules Scorecards
Goal Umpire & Timekeeper cards are not required for U8 & U9 games.
U10 Mixed & U12 Girls still require Goal Umpire & Timekeeper cards as scores need to be entered into Footyweb.
