Last Month - Erik Zlokovitz

Last month our guest speaker was MD DNR, Maryland Artificial Reef Initiative Coordinator, Erik Zlokovitz. Erik discussed what's new with artificial reefs in the Bay, including updated locations, and talked about MARI's Artificial Reef Volunteer Angler Survey for 2015.
  • SE corner of Love Pt. fish haven has artificial reef with granite boulders 1-4 wide
  • Lower Chester north of Hail Pt. - shallow water reef
  • Reef balls deposited to the Memorial Stadium site once a year
    • Some with oyster spat
  • Choptank site - small Black Sea Bass observed
  • MARI Artifical Reef Study showed
    • Man-O-War and Memorial Stadium had comparable year to year fish per hour and species per trip

April Meeting - Capt. Greg Buckner - Tue Mar. 10

This month we are pleased to present Captain Greg Buckner of Miss Susie Charters, Capt. Greg will be discussing tips and tactics for maximizing your opportunities during the spring trophy Rockfish season. He will also be selling his custom trolling rigs.
We are trying to organize a chapter Spring Trophy trolling trip with Capt. Greg on one of the following dates. Check your calendars and learn from the best!
April 22 @ 1pm 
April 28 @ 1pm 
May 12 @ 6am 
May 14 @ 6am or 1pm 
May 18 @ 6am or 1pm 



The meeting will be held at the Patapsco Council No 1960 Knights of Columbus Hall at 1010 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.

Please use the Beaumont Ave (side) entrance.
Doors open at 6:45 and meeting starts at 7:30.
Admission to the meeting is free and visitors are welcome.

Shrimp and Bull Roast
Thanks to all who made the 3rd Annual Shrimp and Bull Roast a success!

Kids Fishing Derby
The annual Kids Fishing Derby is coming up soon. It will take place Saturday May 9th from 8AM-Noon at Gwynnbrook Pond off Owings Mills Blvd. The kids will be supplied with free rod, reel, bait, tackle and lunch. Ages 5-16 are welcome to participate. There are just 9 spots left! The April meeting is the last one before the event, so be sure to sign up participants or as a volunteer.

Ocean City Fishing Trip with Capt. Monty Hawkins
Sign up for the Ocean City fishing trip for Black Sea Bass and other reef fish at the next meeting. The trip is Friday May 29th.
