What's Up

We're now less than 5 weeks away from our planned departure to Papua New Guinea on May 10!  We praise the Lord for His faithfulness in guiding each step of this journey, and for each of your prayers and gifts that have made it possible.  We're back in East Tennessee for a few more weeks, staying very busy with preparing logistical arrangements, packing and shipping what we need, and investing in relationships.

What's Coming

We have finished our academic requirements and submitted our work permit applications.  Please pray that these permits will be approved very soon, then that our visas will be granted quickly after that.  Only then will we be able to purchase our plane tickets. Once we arrive in PNG, our first three months will be spent in PNG Orientation, preparing us for our new cultural and physical environment and learning Pidgin, the primary trade language.  Please pray for health and safety throughout the course.  After orientation and developing our Pidgin language skills more fully, we're planning to undertake a 3-month Language Documentation project with the Murik language in the East Sepik province.  Following that, we will work with our leadership toward our specific language/translation project.

What We Need

Due to a combination of circumstances, we've dropped below the total Wycliffe ministry budget we need.  We will not be released to go unless we're at or above 100%.  We're currently about $250/month under that target.  Would you pray that the Lord will raise up more financial partners to come alongside us in the next couple of weeks?  If you've been considering taking this step, let us encourage you that now is the time!  Please email us with any questions you may have, or CLICK HERE to commit and give online.  We're also looking at quite a long list of equipment and supplies to be purchased before our departure.  Please pray with us that the Lord will give wisdom as we work through prioritizing and addressing these needs.
The Lord has provided abundantly every step of the way, and we are assured He's ready to do it again now - thanks for letting Him use you to help reach the Bibleless of Papua New Guinea!  We thank our God on every remembrance of you.  Living in community and partnership with such an amazing group of people has been an incredible blessing in our lives.

Many blessings,

Aaron and Rebekah Wade
