There is a line in the Oasis song ‘Live Forever’ which goes ‘You and I are gonna live forever.’ Living forever is a nice thought. Or is it...?

Would you want to live in this world forever? With all its pain, suffering, disappointment and injustice?
Despite not wanting to live forever, none of us really want to die. Another line from that same song says ‘I want to live, I don’t want to die.’
Easter means that although we’ll die one day, we can still live forever...

...not in a world full of corruption and upset, but in a world full of only purity and peace and complete happiness.

God made this possible by sending His son Jesus into the world. Although we don’t like to admit it, we are often the cause of pain and disappointment. We hurt people and we let people down. We do wrong things, which cause harm.
But instead of punishing us for those wrong things, God punished Jesus in our place, on the cross, which we remember on Good Friday. (Which is why it's called 'good!')

Most importantly, Jesus didn't stay dead. If he did, then all of this means nothing. On Easter Sunday we celebrate that he rose again, and defeated death! By doing this, he proved he is God and more powerful than the grave.
If we are sorry for our wrongdoing, believe that Jesus was punished in our place and choose to follow him, the Bible tells us we will live forever with him in a place where there is no corruption, pain, injustice, pollution or anything bad at all  heaven.

Easter offers us the possibility of living forever. All we have to do is turn from our sin and trust in what Jesus did on the cross.
John 10:18
"No one takes [my life] from me ... I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again" - Jesus
