Join the Bike Newport Rides Committee!

Tweed rides? Night rides? Bike & Yoga? Happy hour jaunts? On-island? Off-island? Another island? 

If you have ideas for great group rides this season, join the Bike Newport Rides Committee! Together we'll plan and run a season of fun rides for cyclists of all riding styles and interests. Meeting dates TBD by the Committee. Interested? Please email Liza right away. 

Spring BIKE GARAGE Schedule
Goes into effect on April 17th

SPRING HAS FINALLY SPRUNG – so come on down to the Bike Garages and hone your bike skills for the riding season! Our adult (A) and youth (Y) focused educational programs at the Bike Garage at Rogers (BGN) and Bike Garage North (BGN) are now running six days a week. Check out the offerings below and email Mark for more information. 

Monday: Mechanic's Night | BGR | 5:30-7:30pm | A
Tuesday: Open Garage/Earn-a-Bike | BGN | 2:30-5:00pm | Y
Wednesday: Pell Mini Mechanics | 3:30-4:30pm | Y
Thursday: MET/BGR by appoinment | 8:30-1:45pm | Y/A
Friday: Open Garage/Earn-a-Bike | Open Garage | BGN | Y
Saturday: Jr. Road Ride Club | BGN | 3:30-5:00 | Y

Welcome to Bike Newport's New Board Chair:
Dawn Euer

Dawn Euer (pronounced OY'-er) is a lifelong activist and organizer. A graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law, Dawn is an experienced coalition builder and problem solver. Dawn's efforts at Marriage Equality Rhode Island helped change the conversation in the state, leading to passage of historic marriage equality legislation in 2013. A longtime bike commuter, Dawn has a passion for cycling and the outdoors and is excited to help Newport become a truly bike friendly city.

BIG THANKS to our outgoing Board Chair, Deanna Conheeny Casey, for her years of leadership. Happily, Deanna will be staying on as our Board Treasurer. Read more about the Bike Newport Board here.

2nd annual "TOUR DE JONQUILLES" Daffodil Ride
Saturday, April 18th


 

Get up close and personal with the 385,000 daffodils planted throughout Newport on this daffy bike ride supporting the Daffodillion project! Join us on a tour of the plantings, a tour of the gardens at the Hillside private estate, and end up at the Ballard Park “Bouquet Bar” and Flower Market where live music and nearly 20,000 daffodils will greet us. Group Ride Saturdays

We're still in "show up and ride" mode but watch for an imminent announcement of the season starter for Saturday group rides – Spring and our Saturday group rides are both coming soon!! 
Until then, continue to use Bike Newport HQ as a meeting place - show up at 9:15 at 437 Broadway and see who's up for a ride. Roll out at 9:30.
