The First Day

That's me. On my first day of kindergarten.

It's funny how you remember various moments of your life. I vividly remember this day. I remember doing my hair (you can't tell!), I remember picking out my favorite earrings and headband, and I especially remember that bag. I've always had a thing for bags as my favorite accessory.

But what I most remember about this day was the anticipation and excitement leading up to the big day. Just as it has been for me with every major life decision. I've always been thinking ahead and setting my eyes on what is next.

Most recently I have had these same feelings of anticipation and excitement (and nervousness) as I began the end of my 9 year run at my first big girl job out of college.

I started as a personal trainer two days after I walked across the stage as a college graduate (remember the part about always thinking about what's next). I have learned so much, grown personally and professionally and had the opportunity to meet amazing people.

So here I am on THE FIRST DAY of my new chapter and new journey. I'm not wearing any cool earrings or a dinosaur jumpsuit, but I did put on the mandatory black Athleta leggings. And I couldn't be happier that you are here.

These newsletters will contain articles I'm reading that I want to share with you about food, nutrition, mindset, exercise and so much more. It will also have upcoming events such as charity work outs if you are local to MSP and no doubt there will be funny stories about my training for Worlds Toughest Mudder in November.

My new adventure is going to be focused on building a life coaching business. I love personal training, but what i love even more is coaching people through decisions, choices, and helping them to love their life.

But enough about the newsletter...the real reason you're here is to what this next step for me really is. I have wanted to pursue more full time life coaching since I finished my graduate degree in counseling and coaching in 2013. I fell in love with life coaching during my program and I want to share it with many more people.

You may ask....but I don't understand what life coaching is??

Life coaching is a supportive relationship where I create a safe and welcoming environment for you to work through just about anything you need. Some situations below but coaching is never limited to one thing.

  • Job decisions
  • Relationship struggles
  • Health and wellness planning
  • Anywhere in life you feel stuck
  • Difficult situations
  • OR you simply want to take your life up another notch.

I'm here for all of those reasons and I am excited to work together.

And did I mention that my favorite people to work with are millenials?!

So what I ask of all of you is referrals. If you have loved working with me and know someone who could benefit from life coaching, please send them my way by phone 612-750-4536 or email at lindsey.heiserman@gmail.com. Coaching is also not limited to those who live in the MSP area but can be done over the phone as well.

  • I am opening up 10 coaching slots for the month of April.
I can not wait to see what happens!

And then there's my first love - personal training. As many of you are dying to know I will also be doing personal training out of a new gym space called Relative Strength in Golden Valley. Here are the ways you can work with me.
  • Come to a charity work out - FIRST ONE IS APRIL 12th from 11:30-1:00pm. Bring friends. Charity work outs are my absolute favorite time spent training.
  • One-on-one - by appointment. Contact me for details.
  • Group - I will be offering 2x/week group training classes on Tuesday's and Thursday's starting mid-April. More info to come in the next newsletter.
Thank you so much for reading the first newsletter. I'm so glad you're here. See  you soon.
