Visiting
sunny cities to thaw out my frozen winter bones, and today I'm headed to chase cherry blossoms with
these guys in D.C. while we celebrate
a very Good Friday and
our favorite part of Spring.
Lately, I’ve laced up my shoes to cover a lot of new ground, and am struck by the different things that keep us darting to and fro along our paths...
Running from anxiety as it bites at our ankles.
Running into a forgotten friend who is feeling hurt.
Running towards the final slivers of sunset.
Running up to a roadblock of fear that freezes you in your tracks.
Running to catch the only rush hour cab.
Running past the parts you're wishing to forget.
Running back to the very place that you call home.
Running (and leaping!) into the arms of someone you love.
In the most literal sense of the word...
I run to sweat out the stress, and to make my heart race… The surest way to keep my life’s peace in it’s place.
Keeping anxiety at bay amidst our frantically full lives has come up quite a lot with my
lifestyle design clients recently...
Is this something that resonates with you at all?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on using movement to manage those manic moments, and your responses here are always SUCH bright spots in my week!

Ps. - Did you see
this video as it made the rounds? I showed it to a group of high school students during a group session the other day, and was surprised to see how much it affected the sweet (sometimes hidden) hearts of the teenage boys…
PPs. - Style & Pepper has been full of
color and
heart over the past few weeks! Between
bright brunches,
lovely ladies, and a bit of
spring shopping -- I think this winter's funk might finally be a thing of the past! ;)
