Sammie Fritchley
Most of you will know that there was a pretty serious coming together on the first corner of our first race at Oulton. Sammie was extracted from the Gadget car and was flown to hospital in the medicopter. She was heavily bruised and is very sore but is otherwise OK. We all wish her and others involved a speedy recovery. Three cars suffered serious damage.

Oulton Park race results
Round 1: Kris Tovey, Jon Davis, Richard Lambert. Round 2: Pete Sparrow, Kris Tovey, Matt Lambert. Full results are available at TSL-timing and they also have live timing so you can follow our practices and races even if you can't be there to watch. There will be a fully detailed report by Matt Hollis in the next ‘Snail’s Pace’, coming soon.

Drivers names in rear side windows
At the Oulton Park meeting, a lot of cars did not display the name of the driver in the style required in the regulations. Scrutineers have not been alerted as yet, but  . . . . ..  On the SeaLion car, they show the given names quite small and vertical and the family names quite large, for easy reading by spectators and marshals. The lettering is cut in reverse, and it is applied to the inside of the window. This means that it is easy to tape over all but the name of the driver actually in the car for a race. J Connor Signs in Birmingham have a template to fit the window shape and can cut your lettering to order. Contact: pam@jconnorsigns.co.uk The names are normally arranged with the shortest on the top line and the longest on the bottom line, to match the window shape.
Hans-type safety systems
We remind you that they will be compulsory for almost all race drivers in 2016, including 2CV’s. Prices vary a lot, and many drivers will need a new helmet as well. Price for a set will be between £600 and £800, so start being very nice to the people to whom you normally send your Christmas list now!
Club BBQ at Brands Hatch
Our next races, Rounds 3 and 4, are at Brands Hatch, April 11 & 12. If you want to make a late entry, contact Mervyn Rundle. On the Saturday, our first practice is at 11.30 and we finish Round 3 at about 17.30. On Sunday, Round 4 finishes around 11.30. Katy Storey is organising a club barbecue after the first race on Saturday evening, food ready for 7pm. To simplify planning and budgeting, a cost of £10 per car will be compulsory on each car entered, whether you want to join in or not. Trucks are featured on the programme so there will be our biggest crowd of the season + some slippy stuff on the track!

PMWE 2CV 24 Hour race, Anglesey, August 21 - 23
Lots of work and planning is going on in the background to help make sure this race weekend is even better than the initial race there, last year. It is the 25th running of our unique race. The entry cost will be advised very shortly, although we hope it will be similar to last year. Alongside our Citroen 2CV’s, we shall be sharing the circuit with Mini Grand and Belgian series cars.

There are several people looking for seats, and Katy is the match maker. If you have a seat available or are looking for a seat, contact her by clicking HERE.

Keep an eye on the club website for more infomation.

See you all at Brands
