Marty's Message

Our alumni are part of who we are.

One prime example of this is Terry Porter ’85, a star player for the Portland Trailblazers and coach of several NBA teams. Terry, donning a Pointers hat, sent a video message to congratulate the UW-Stevens Point men’s basketball team on its national title during the Pointers’ celebration last week. Other examples are economist John List, Disney entertainer Sam Salomone ’14 (interior architecture) and communicative disorders grads Lynne ‘69 and Kent Gibbs ’68 who returned last week to the department where they started their lives together.

In addition to being NBA stars like Terry and world-class economists like John, our CPS alumni have been successful in a variety of ways. They serve our communities as teachers, designers, health care, wellness and business leaders. Not only are our alumni successful professionals, most stay involved with CPS and UW-Stevens Point and remain part of our Pointer family.

See where CPS alumni are living and working on our alumni maps.

Marty Loy,
Dean
