New EFA Global Monitoring Report out today!
Launch day has finally arrived for the new, 2015 EFA Global Monitoring Report “Education for All 2000-2015: Achievements and challenges.” Download your copy now.
Global launch events are taking place today in New Delhi, Paris and New York, bringing together some of the foremost experts from the worlds of education and sustainable development to discuss progress made over the past 15 years and the many challenges countries face in securing a more sustainable future with education at its core.
As we reach the 2015 deadline for Education for All, we reveal that only one third of countries have achieved all the measurable EFA goals and only half have achieved the most watched goal of universal primary enrolment.
Progress has been made though – in 2012, nearly two-thirds more children were enrolled in pre-primary education than in 1999, and 34 million more children have gone to school than if previous trends had continued.
As we look forward to the new post-2015 education agenda, governments and the international community should intensify their commitment to education as a vital part of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Follow all the activity from the launch events today on Twitter via @EFAReport and #eduVerdict and share your thoughts on these latest findings.
