Welcome to the newsletter for April.
It was truly uplifting to see an even bigger crowd at the Hub for the 2015 AGM than in previous years. With forty members plus a handful of observers, The Cycle Hub was certainly packed that night! While we are still going through all the ideas and feedback received that evening, you can read our first thoughts on the AGM below.
Also in our news this month, we have a reply from Nick Forbes about our needs assessment of cycling provision in Newcastle and consultation replies to various plans in progress across the city.
Also, in the run up to the General Elections in May, we're organising another Space for Cycling cycle ride (see article below) in Newcastle on Saturday 25 April. Everybody is welcome!

Space For Cycling Ride 2015
 After two successful outings in 2014, a Space for Cycling ride is being organised again for 2015. Peter Macdonald, the campaign ride coordinator, reflects on the 2014 rides, telling us how it felt to ride through Newcastle city centre, including on the iconic Tyne Bridge among so many other people on bikes. Vision For Newcastle
 In March we received a reply from Cllr Nick Forbes, leader of Newcastle City Council, in response to our needs assessment from November 2014. We would like to say a big thank you to Nick, and we will digest and analyse his reply so we can understand where we are at with the political determination and policy implementation of building in space for cycling in Newcastle. Replies To Infrastructure Consultation
 In a busy month for replies to infrastructure consultation, the campaign has sent feedback on changes to plans for
John Dobson Street in Newcastle City Centre (here); Benwell Lane and SCR1 (here); and we're delighted by the plans for the City Centre 20mph expansion (click here).
AGM 2015 Highlights – Part 1
 While the dust settles and all that was discussed is reflected upon, we're reporting on our lively AGM with our biggest attendance yet. In the meantime, you can read our account of the first part of the AGM here, including photos of the event and links to our annual report.
