Goodbye March, hello April!

The biggest news since sliced newspaper is the beast that is #screenfreedom. All month I've been sharing ideas for things for families to do instead of watch a screen. Why would you want to? And how do you get there? I promise you'll never go back!

Here are our fave things to do so far:

Feed the birds
V
isit your local eco garden
Make a nature table
Write a heartfelt letter
Go fishing
Play kits are another fascination right now - both bigs and littles love them! I shared the detective kit we made, but we've also got a doctor kit, grocery store and a beauty-slash-hairdresser kit on the go. Lottie made the latter! Will share!

Other things we've been making:

A visual journal
Beautiful buzzy bee crafts
A cute little recycled owl family
A lovely old-fashioned pound cake
T
omates farcies
P
umpkin muffins
March is my anniversary month and, as such, it's a month where I feel particularly loved up and grateful for all I have. If you're on the lookout for a gorgeous relationship and you've got a 'must have' list a mile long, just remember to make sure that nice is at the very top of the list (and super-hot comes second!).

More things we talked about:

Why are some couples so mean?
A special guest post from The Art of Joy
W
hy it really takes a village
The importance of family traditions
J
ust be fucking nice
In February I realised that I was missing from my children's childhood photos simply because I didn't like having my picture taken. This led me to launch the #inthepicture campaign, urging mums everywhere to step out from behind the camera, throw off our feelings of inadequacy and be present in our children's memories.

On the 10th of each month, I'm posting a new photo of me with the kids and I hope you'll join me by uploading your own picture to the post. It's a good monthly reminder to stay #inthepicture! If you need an extra reminder, you can sign up for my email that will gently nudge you to get out there and smile with the kidlets. Just check the #inthepicture box.

There were five of us mums linking up to the post in March and many more on Facebook, I hope there are even more in April!

Until then, happy picture taking and see you on the blog.

PS - Hit reply and tell me a story, any story! I'd love to hear from you!
