Holy Week
This is holiest week of our Church calendar. It is because of this week that we can celebrate being Christians - followers of Christ. It is especially during this week that I am reminded how truly blessed we are by God that he would oblige Jesus to suffer so greatly to prove his love for us. It is with much humility and joy that I pray that you profoundly experience His presence in your lives this week.
Site Visit
As you know, we were visited by the State accreditation team this past Tuesday and Wednesday. I am proud and pleased to report that we passed our inspection with flying colors. The team leader repeatedly expressed how impressed he was with the positive climate and learning environment of the school. He was most impressed with "the teachers' dedication to their students". I couldn't agree more.

Grandparents Day
The students of St. John School are hosting a grandparents (and/or special friends) day on Holy Thursday; Thursday, April 2, from 1 - 3pm. The following schedule will apply:
1 - 1:20 Grandparents arrive and visit with children in their classroom
1:25 - 1:45 BINGO in the Multi-Purpose Room
2 - 3pm Go to church with students to participate in the Last Supper & Living Stations prayers.
At the conclusion of prayer, the grandparents may take their grandchildren home from church, but a note must be presented to their teacher beforehand, so we can plan dismissal accurately.
Scrip
Due to the Easter holiday, Scrip envelopes were sent home with the youngest child on Friday. Please return your scrip order to the school on Monday, March 30th, as we will be placing the school order that morning.
These orders will be sent home no later than Thursday, April 2nd, just in time for Easter!
Remember scrip cards are a perfect fit for Easter Baskets!

Summer School
Ms. Hauschild and I are offering summer school from May 20 - June 25. Ms. Hauschild will be teaching Reading to students entering 1st through 5th grade. I will be teaching Math to students entering 3rd through 9th grade. Reading class will occur from 8:30 - 9:30, followed by Math from 9:30 - 10:30, Monday through Thursday. The cost of one program is $200; $300 if you sign up for both programs. Registration forms will be available after Easter.

Yearbook
We ordered a few extra yearbooks. They are $15 each. If you would like one, please call the office and let us know to reserve one for you.
Field Day
We will be conducting a Field Day, Olympics-like sporting event on Tuesday, May 12 at Teacher's Park. Students in grades K through 8 will be teamed up together and compete in many athletic and athletic-like events. We will need several (roughly 20) volunteers to facilitate the events. Since I understand that this is a work day for most of you I am giving you this six-week notice, so you could ask for the day off to spend it with us. We will supply all the coffee you can drink, donuts you can eat, and a free lunch as well. Please contact me or Mr. Schmitz (phys. ed. teacher).
