The architect team of Martinez + Johnson and Mecanoo recently completed preliminary designs for the modernization of the
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. While not final, these renderings demonstrate the amazing possibilities as we work to transform this historic building into a center for learning, innovation and engagement for the District.

Design Build Team Selected for Cleveland Park Library
The DC Public Library has selected the design build team of
Gilbane and
Perkins Eastman for the
Cleveland Park Library project. Located at 3310 Connecticut Ave. NW, the library has been slated to be rebuilt or completely renovated.

Eggs-quisite Colors of Easter
Have fun decorating eggs and listening to Easter-themed stories Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m. Rules of the game: dress for a mess in your favorite spring colors, bring up to four boiled eggs and a basket.
Petworth Library will supply non-toxic food color dye, stickers, crayons and markers. Groups of five or more children call 202-645-8337 24 hours in advance to ensure enough supplies are available. Fun for ages 3-7 with caregiver.

Exhibit and Arbuthnot Honor Lecture with Brian Selznick
Explore the artistry and imagination of award-winning author and illustrator Brian Selznick in the exhibit “Building Wonder, Designing Dreams: The Bookmaking of Brian Selznick,” at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. This interactive exhibit for all ages is open until June 22.
In conjunction with the exhibit, DC Public Library will host Brian Selznick as he delivers the 2015 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture on Friday, May 8, 7 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
