• Professor Frank Cody, from Anthropology and the Centre for South Asian Studies, Asian Institute, is the recipient of the Society for Linguistic Anthropology's 2014 Edward Sapir Book Prize for his book, The Light of Knowledge: Literacy Activism and the Politics of Writing in South India (Cornell 2013). The award is presented to acknowledge a "book that makes the most significant contribution to our understanding of language in society, or the ways in which language mediates historical or contemporary sociocultural processes."
• Professor Stephen Bede Scharper was featured on CBC's The Current along with Green Party of Canada Leader MP Elizabeth May and biologist Dan Riskin to discuss the role of faith, values and science in politics.

• Several UTM undergraduate Biology students were award recipients at the Ontario Biology Day 2015 that was hosted at Carleton in March. The honours include the following: James Santangelo (Supervisor: Peter Kotanen) for the Canadian Society of Plant Biologists Presentation Award; Alexandre Paquette (Supervisor: George Espie) for Best talk in Microbiology & Biochemistry; and Ashna Khanna (Supervisor: Fiona Rawle) for Best talk in Science Education.
• Professor Ingo Ensminger co-authored a study that was published in Frontiers for their work on the effects of climate change on young Ontario conifer seedlings.
• Professor Joel Levine, featured above, was profiled in a People Behind the Science Podcast. 

• Master of Science in Biomedical Communications student Naveen Devasagayam has been named to the Top 25 finalists in the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council's (SSHRC) 2015 Storytellers Challenge. 

• The work of Professor Ron Buliung and collaborators Raktim Mitra (Ryerson) and Guy Faulkner and their study on kids' physical health was featured on CBC News and also picked up by CBC's Metro Morning radio program.

• Professor Lisa Kramer was featured on Global News commenting on Robo-advisors.
• Professor Kramer also co-authored a study on Winter months SAD for U.S. Treasury securities.  
• Professor Matthew Osborne was featured in The Globe and Mail with his study on cellphone overage fees.
• Professor Andreas Park was cited in the Financial Times about retail flow to U.S. Markets.
• Jayson Parker co-authored a paper with two MBiotech students in Biomarkers in Medicine.

• Visual Resource Librarian Harriet Sonne de Torrens co-authored, “Librarians in a Litigious Age and the Attack on Academic Freedom,” with Mary Kandiuk in Current Issues in Library, Information Science and Related Fields. Advances in Librarianship 39. Ed. Anne Woodsworth and W. David Penniman. Bingley: Emerald, 2015. 
• Harriet Sonne de Torrens also published the article "Une proclamation de foi: les retables commandés au XVIIe siècle  par le prieur Vincent Royer pour l’Abbaye prémontrée de Beauport" in Histories de Bretagnes 5.

• Professor Ilia Binder has been promoted to the rank of full Professor effective July 1, 2015. He has made important contributions in many areas of mathematical analysis, most notably geometric function theory, its applications to mathematical physics and the study of its computational complexity aspects.
• Professor Daniel Wigdor was awarded a 2015 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship. The Sloan Research Fellowships are extraordinarily competitive awards that recognize early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise in the United States and Canada. Professor Wigdor works in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, seeking to "seamlessly blend the physical and digital worlds," in particular by improving the responsiveness of touch screens. 

• Professor Loren Martin was awarded the 2015 Pfizer Early Career Investigator Research Grant – Basic Science. The Canadian Pain Society in partnership with Pfizer Canada only awards one of these grants a year to early career researchers who recently started a faculty position at a Canadian institution. 
• Professor Glenn Schellenberg was recently elected a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association.
• A recent article, 'Sharing without Caring? Respect for Moral Others Compensates for Low Sympathy in Children's Sharing,' by postdoctoral fellow Antonio Zuffianò, graduate students Tyler Colasante and Joanna Peplak and their supervisor, Professor Tina Malti was published in The British Journal of Developmental Psychology. The article was featured in a press release by the British Psychological Society and on Medical News Today.  

• Professor Jennifer Carlson's book, Citizen-Protectors: The Everyday Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline was released by Oxford University Press.
• Professor David Pettinicchio co-authored a paper, "Perceptions of Structural Injustice and Efficacy:Participation in Low/Moderate/High-Cost Forms of Collective Action,” with Katie Corcoran and Jacob Young that appeared in Sociological Inquiry.
• Prof. Pettinicchio also published a policy brief in Scholars Strategy Network (February 2015) called "How Educational Opportunities Can Help Disabled Americans Break out of Low-Wage Occupational Ghettos.”
