Upcoming Deadlines
- SSHRC Connection Grant applications are due by the U of T internal deadline of 9AM, Thursday, April 30, 2015. By this date MRA forms must also be submitted and have Chair approval in order to meet the sponsor's deadline of May 1st.
- The Collaborative Health Research Projects (CHRP) draft Letter of Intent is due by the internal deadline of 5PM on May 4, 2015. By this date MRA forms must also be submitted and have Chair approval.
- U of T Mississauga has new Internal Funding opportunities available: a Research Planning Grant, a UTM/Jackman Humanities Institute Annual Seminar, and a UTM Working Groups. Please submit completed applications in a single PDF to Rong Wu at rong.wu@utoronto.ca by 5PM on Friday, May 22, 2015.

- Professor Ilia Binder has been promoted to the rank of full Professor effective July 1, 2015. He has made important contributions in many areas of mathematical analysis, most notably geometric function theory, its applications to mathematical physics and the study of its computational complexity aspects.
- Professor Daniel Wigdor was awarded a 2015 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship. The Sloan Research Fellowships are extraordinarily competitive awards that recognize early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise in the United States and Canada. Professor Wigdor works in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, seeking to "seamlessly blend the physical and digital worlds," in particular by improving the responsiveness of touch screens.
